You Are Always Communicating With Your Dog

Dogs read our energy, body language and our patterns of behavior.

We are always communicating something to them. Make a commitment to become more mindful of the kinds of things you are communicating to your dog by tuning into your own body language. Dogs practice a lot of “attention seeking behaviors” we unknowingly reinforce these without realizing it. If this continues to happen your dog will learn that he can manipulate situations to their advantage, this can cause anxiety and unstable behaviors from your dog. So being aware of what you are re enforcing is very important. Energy is very important as well, think of times you have been in a fight with someone and you can feel tension in the room; dogs feel energy that way in all situations. Dog language is like a radio station; you will tune in and tune out. The more you tune in and observe the easier it is to understand that dogs are always communicating.
